AIRBORNE

Ten years old
arms outstretched
flying high
swooping low
over green fields
rocketing along in the sunshine
doing rolls.

Watch out birds
here I come.

But high-skying boys and birds
are not all that flies.
So, when my time comes
fold my wings
upon my heart
as I prepare
to dematerialize.
